I just switched websites, and I wanted to share some fall decor from the past few years with you guys. I love browsing fireplace mantel Halloween decorations on Pinterest, so I included some of my Halloween mantels from the past.
This post is all about fireplace mantel Halloween decorations.
FALL TORNADO DECORATING
Day 2 of my Fall Halloween decorating tornado and there are a few peeks available. I found these candlesticks while thrifting several years ago. I love the texture and well, of course, that they are black. Homegoods has these cute metal houses and the Rae Dunn Trick or Treat crock. Target dollar spot is a great place to pick up the black mini trees.
ENJOY THE SIMPLE THINGS
I wish I could say that this is the extent and ease of my fall decor but, hey, it’s a start. If you are going to only put one thing out this fall season, I highly recommend this yellow hops wreath from hearth and hand available at Target. There is no shedding – yahoo! Keep it simple and just hand a lovely wreath.
A LITTLE BIT OF KITCHEN COFFEE BAR
I just love this little shelf from Hobby Lobby. I’ve been waiting for the right moment to pull it out and style it up. Getting there on my fall decor and the temperature has dropped a bit so it always helps motivate my fall creative motivation.
WHOOOO YOU LOOKIN AT?
I have a thing for large art. I especially have a thing for large art in small spaces. You’ll find this eyeball looking at you in my powder room. Do you dare enter?
IMPERFECTION
Does the imperfection of this wall drive you mad? No madness for me. I see perfectly imperfect. I had so much fun doing this wall. I listened to a great audio book “The Choice” by Dr. Edith Eva Egar. Maybe I was a little too into the story, and it made for more imperfection, but then again, that’s just how I like it.
HANGIN AROUND
I took a chance on these curtains when I found them while thrifting. They were new in the package, and when I saw they had 6 of them, I decided to take a chance. I didn’t even open the package to take a good look, but I did see black and something Halloween-ish. Advice – take a chance! These are actually so cute and really add a bit of whimsy to the setup this year. The weather hasn’t been cool enough to open the windows yet, but I can’t wait to see them blowing in the breeze. MUMMY NEEDS COFFEE
I really love these mummy mugs and mummy canisters from Homegoods. They inspired this tiered tray. I found the yoga skeletons at Rodworks. I have a Rod Works near me that I can never seem to stay away from, as just walking in that store makes me happy. They now have an online store, so luckily, you can still experience the fun.
THIS TREE
Life is too short not to have a Halloween tree!
IT’S OCTOBER 1ST HUTCH
I think this hutch has to be one of the most useful and fun thrifting purchases I have made recently. It’s so much fun to style for all of the holidays and seasons and it holds quite a bit of dishware which is much needed in this house! Do you have a hutch you love?
PUMPKINS ARE ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA
Found this crochet pumpkin garland at HomeGoods. Garland over art is a win-win!
EVEN THE SUN IS FEELING FESTIVE
Amazing what you see when you actually open your eyes and see your surroundings. Light and shadows are beautiful.
FALL CHALKBOARD ART
I loved the idea of a very large chalkboard and wasn’t quite sure how I was going to find one that was budget-friendly. So off to thrifting I went. I found a double-sided whiteboard with rollers on one of those wooden stands. The whiteboard was a bit worn on one side. I painted the light wood edges white and used chalkboard paint on one side. I removed the rolling frame and saved the casters for another project because those can be costly to buy. I now have one side whiteboard and one side chalkboard. I stapled the string lights around the edges for a more secure fit. Just be careful not to staple the wire. I’ve used this outside for a movie night as a marquee. It’s found so many places around home. Right now, I love it above this mantel for the fall decor.
The owl design is courtesy of Leanna @ Pretty DIY Home
I found a similar-looking chalkboard on Amazon. It is 46″x 34.5″. Make sure to measure and play around with what works for your space.
These bulb lights are similar to the ones I have. Be careful pulling them out of the box as the bulbs are glass and can break if they hit the tile.
The original garland from my photo was from TJMaxx I believe, but I haven’t been able to track it down as it wasn’t from this year. This felt pom-pom garland is a cute alternative.

QUITE A BIT GOING ON
I really hesitated to put this tree up this year because I really didn’t have the perfect spot for it. This coffee bar corner is already pretty lively with activity. But, in the end who can say no to the halloween tree. Two of my favorite pieces in this pic are the neon ghost and the Trick or Treat Yourself ghost bowl. These will for sure be added to my regular rotation.
FALL ZEN
So, let’s talk about candles. Let me tell you a story. Years ago, on New Year’s Eve, we were invited to a friend’s house to celebrate. They had a beautiful living room that was never used, but we decided to sit in that room that night. There was a very large 3-wick candle in a beautiful glass holder in the center of the coffee table. We commented on how beautiful it was and asked if it was new. My friend said that they had had it for several years but never lit it. WHAT? YOU NEVER LIGHT IT???? WHY?????? Of course you know the rest of the story, we lit that candle up and celebrated the rest of the evening around the warm glow.
Now I know that candles that have never been lit look beautiful with their fresh wicks and perfect form. But I’m here to tell you – Life is too short to not light the candles! You’re missing out on the beautiful glow and wonderful smell creating a great ambiance that only candles can give. Now go light some candles; oh and don’t invite me over if you don’t want your candles lit… or buy battery operated candles and I’ll agree to come over.
TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME
This picture doesn’t do this view justice, especially for the view it gave me today. Traffic has been rough lately with new construction. I had to run a few errands today and decided to take the long way home. I stopped in this little shopping center to check an errand off my list. I noticed an Ace Hardware on my way out of the errand. I love this little hardware store, and I can wander around it for far longer than I should. Do you have a smaller hardware store in your area that you like to pop in and wander through? Anyway, I came out of the store with a smile on my face and looked up to see the sun behind this beautiful mountain with the flag blowing in the breeze. Thanks, traffic, for reminding me to take the long way home.
EEK
I’m crazy for black and white stripes and spooky decor.
NO ARTISTIC TALENT NEEDED
Do you know how to make your family scream and scatter? Announce, “hey, let’s paint rocks”. They think I’m crazy, but it’s true. Just ignore and continue with set up. I buy my rocks in the craft section or pick up rocks in our travels. Get out the craft paint and some detailed brushes or use colored sharpies. Next put on some great music or a favorite podcast or audio book and dive right into this great stress reliever. Before you know it, I guarantee you will have the family join you and you’ll get to see everyone’s vision come to life (my favorite part). I’m feeling some spooky Halloween Inspo today. Gotta go paint some rocks. 😂
GONE BATTY
Isn’t October just flying by? The nights are cooler and it’s feeling more like Fall but there is so much Fall yet to do that I have Gone Batty.
GARLAND LOVE
Garland is not just for hanging. Happy spooky week, Monday. I have lots of ideas floating in my head today in preparation for a Halloween gathering on Thursday. I am currently sitting in this spot scheming.
CRISPY FALL NIGHT
It finally feels like Fall, and I’m here for it.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
I’m working on the Thanksgiving Decor today. Yesterday, I picked up this throw at Pier 1. My local Pier 1 is closing, but they have 25% off the entire store. I’m so glad I stopped in!
This post was all about the Halloween fireplace mantel.
