This Fall Halloween mantel features a cute paper multi-purpose star garland that adds that extra layer of detail to the main focus. I’ve used this garland multiple times in holiday decor. It’s such a neutral; great for adding interest to the large space of the chalkboard when I’m not using a chalk design. I’ve linked the garland below.
My centerpiece chalkboard is really large. I found it while thrifting and it was actually a double-sided whiteboard on a frame with wheels.
I painted one side with chalkboard paint and painted the frame white. I’ve seen lots of whiteboards of all sizes while out thrifting. If you are willing to do some painting; you can usually get a great deal on a really large one. I’ve linked a ready-made one on Amazon below if you’d rather save time. I would say just play with what size works for your space in proportion to your other decor.

The eyeball print in this black garland decor is downloadable art. I don’t have the link to the exact eye print download but you can find similar ones on Etsy here
I usually print poster size at Costco or Staples. Foam poster board works great to keep your print light yet sturdy. Just use a little spray adhesive to attach the print to the board. Be careful not to use too much spray adhesive or your print ink may bleed through. In front of the eye print is a layering frame I use all the time. You can find old wood large frames secondhand. Just take out the glass and use only the frame so you can layer it over all kinds and sizes of artwork. Layering adds interest and drama
I found this, touch of fun, vintage sign at a local vintage market for way too much, haha. I really liked the metal element and the background color to break up all the black and white. I knew I had to add it to my fall decor. Luckily, I found it also on Amazon for a much better deal. It’s ok, the experience was worth it!

I’m passionate about my love for any type of string lights and they are an important feature in my chalkboard displays. Multiple types of light within one room or area amp up the ambiance, in my opinion. if you want to use spooky black draping with these string lights; make sure you keep an eye out. My bulbs do get a bit warm. Led bulb string lights can be substituted.
