We knew from the moment we first saw the cabin that exterior paint was a priority. I. knew I wanted black but I wasn’t; sure how I. could make it work with the deck. The deck color was a huge challenge. At first I wanted a black exterior with a walnut color deck but when I did a mock up; it. just felt too dark. I decided to go light on the deck and I really like how it turned out.
I decided to go with Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black on the Exterior. I was really concerned. that it wouldn’t. be dark enough; I didn’t want it to look like a faded black. The Sherwin Williams store assured me it was their truest black but after I received photos from the. painter; I did think it looked like faded black. He assured me that, in person, it looked true black…and…it looks true black!
The deck is Sherwin Williams Light French Gray not too cool and not too warm…just right for the deck.
Our painter was amazing. He. replaced wood on the exterior where needed and caulked the entire exterior. He even took care of the woodpecker holes. He used over 7 cases. of caulking, 22 gallons of primer and 45 gallons of paint!
